Blue Topaz has been nudging me. In particular, there’s a certain ring that I’ve admired now for about a year. The origin of the word “Topaz” is derived from the Greek word, “topazion” and may originate from Sanskrit, in the word “Tapas” which means to heat in a spiritual sense. As for blue, the hottest chemical fires burn blue. Too often my belly is on fire. I hold a lot of thoughts and energy there.
Which got me thinking when our soul is on fire, it is being heated to alchemize an inner conduit to the core of our essence, the magnetism of this life, the spirit that pulls us to follow our spirituality and our heart’s path. What burns within us is a passion to create, speak, share, feel, write, protest, give, art, pray, support, love, Nature, dance, sing, challenge, think, analyze.
The intelligence of one’s soul fire is a cosmic combustion of letting go of comparing ourselves to others and stepping and leaping over the edges of what we think we can’t do — but can. It’s a monumental process of circles within circles overlapping like the waters on our inner shores; the quietest winds that can bring raging storms and interlope with our fears, crossing us into a darkness that is so penetrating we can barely breathe.
And yet, while we are there — we begin to see what is prominent and very real. We find the pressures and hurts and betrayals side by side with something different such as love, joy, and calm. Just waiting for us to see our complexity is actual simple when we become the bluest flame we can be and follow the sky as if we are the sea and we become our people.
