When Moods Trip Over Our Feet
The moon is sad.
I can feel her quiet
piling up against a bookshelf
and pouring melodies
into holy meaning,
that spill like a wild fire
and quenched by the sea.
Oh, these days where moods,
trip over feet and
walk backwards into
a spiral of dreams.
Let me make you some tea
to soften the repeat
of flats and sharps and
arpeggios touching fingers
as each key explores
how the moon weeps tendrils
of shy blue flowers;
forget-me-nots, I believe
that flourish with your salinity
when precious feels
hold hands with a sad moon
and shares a cup of tea.
